CA 91 - CASA ARTESANA (sleeps 6/8)

Casa Artesana is set on the edge of the spectacular Poqueira Ravine, near the lovely white village of Pampaneira.

The house has been built using the traditional Alpujarra architectural style and materials. A great deal of attention to detail has been taken with the artisan owners making a lot of the finishing touches themselves.

The grounds are divided into various terraces and are very green and lush with a myriad of trees and plants. There is even a pond fed continuously from the irrigation system.

The house and gardens give a wonderful relaxing atmosphere in beautiful surroundings.

The house is entered from the front patio complete with a table made from old water mill machinery, barbeque and a table tennis table.

At the centre of the house is the main living area comprising of open plan kitchen, sitting and dining areas with an adjacent shower room.

Off from the kitchen is a sunny breakfast room with views into the garden.

There is also access to a terrace with a low, roughly hewn stone table – perfect for the first coffee of the day under the shade of the enormous chestnut tree!

The kitchen leads through to a lovely and confortable living room.

The living area is equipped with a sofa bed, an open fire and television.

Up a small flight of stairs from the living area is a double bedroom with exposed beams and antique furniture.

On the first floor there are two bedrooms, one double and one twin and a shower room.

From the landing there is access to a large roof terrace with views of the ravine through the trees.

Behind the house on an upper terrace is the swimming pool which is shared with Casa Ceramista.

Along the path between the two houses there is a lovely garden with a small pond.

There is a private parking area on the lower terrace just above the road – this is also shared. However both houses are sufficiently separate to be private and would make a perfect holiday retreat.

Pampaneira is typical of the villages of the Alpujarra with flat roofed, whitewashed houses forming an intricate maze of tiny streets. It has good facilities with shops, bars and restaurants.
